Yellow-Beaked Shearwater

The Easter Holidays are shortly to come. This is the time when the yellow-beaked shearwaters come to us. In the spring these elegant sailors build their nests in the Northern Atlantic. They spend almost their whole life on the sea – flying or surfing. You can hear these migratory birds more than you can see them. You can hear their cries mostly at night – something our guests are fascinated by. At the moment these cries emphasize their spring feelings but later on the shearwaters use them to find their young ones in the cracks of the slopes who they feed only at night as a protection from predators.
